Girardi Must Prove Himself in 2015
As the 2015 season nears it's opening, Joe Girardi must take to task the process of regenerating a winner in the Bronx. Things have been very pedestrian as of late and with 3 playoff misses under his tenure, watchful eyes are sure to linger in his direction. Though the team has not been marred in losing seasons and even has a 27th championship banner (2009), many are beginning to wonder if Girardi will ever be able to take the club back to baseballs pinnacle. Despite keeping the team above water, his mishandling of lineups and overuse of pitchers has become far too consistent and the patience of fans is wearing thin. The calls for his job are becoming more boisterous by the year with no signs of letting up until he proves he can effectively handle the team. To his defense, replacing a legendary manager like Joe Torre is no easy task, and none could expect him to live up to those standards. However, New York is a brutally harsh town that still expects one to find a way.
Can Girardi rise to the occasion and get the Yankees back up to speed? Or will he face an untimely end to his managerial career in the Big Apple? The 2015 season will be the ultimate decider of that.
